Oh Meu Deus 100M
Along the Transhumance Paths
The OMD100M is a journey through Serra da Estrela, a UNESCO Global Geopark and Biosphere Reserve. The route crosses the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, following ancient Roman roads, transhumance paths, and trails shaped by centuries of mountain life witnesses to a landscape that has withstood the passage of time.
Along the way, athletes encounter mountain villages, quartzite crags, deep valleys, and agricultural terraces, amid crystal-clear waters and starlit skies that tell the story of those who once lived in these mountains.
Midway through the adventure, the climb to Torre, the highest point in mainland Portugal, marks the most symbolic moment of the race, before a technical and demanding descent through the Loriga Glacial Valley, one of the most striking landscapes in the mountain range, heading toward the valleys and villages that lead to Seia.
Oh Meu Deus Viriato
