“Oh Meu Deus by UTMB”

Has brought forward its 2026 edition to May and reinforced its integration into the UTMB circuit

The 2026 edition of “Oh Meu Deus” will take place earlier than usual. Traditionally scheduled for the first weekend in June, the event will now be held from 1 to 3 May 2026, a change motivated by its integration into the UTMB World Series, the most prestigious trail running circuit in the world.

This development accompanies the growth of the race, which now has 14 years of history. Oh Meu Deus was born in Manteigas, where it took place for its first two years, then moved to Covilhã and finally settled in Seia, which has hosted the competition for 11 editions.

The change in the calendar sought to align the Portuguese race with the main international competitions, ensuring better coordination between athletes and teams. Joining the UTMB circuit has reinforced the event's international profile, attracting more and more foreign participants and consolidating its importance in the European trail running scene.

The new date, chosen in line with the international calendar and adjusted to the calendar of events in Portugal, reflects a joint effort to find the most balanced moment for everyone. This strategic choice promises to attract even more athletes and enhance the value of the mountains and villages they pass through, offering a deeply immersive experience to athletes, but now with the added global visibility provided by the UTMB circuit.
