OH MEU DEUS 100K
In the Heart of Serra da Estrela
Starting in Seia, the route crosses rural and agricultural paths towards the Alva River valley, passing through authentic villages such as Vila Cova à Coelheira and Sazes da Beira, where old tungsten mines tell stories of the past. Between waterways, terraces, and green slopes, the route leads to Cabeça, the “Christmas Village,” where tradition and innovation intersect, and then to Alvoco da Serra, guardian of memories linked to water and agriculture.
From here, the route climbs to the highest point in mainland Portugal (1,993 m) along the historic Rota do Pastoreio (Shepherding Route), following paths once traveled by transhumant herds. From Torre, it descends through the Garganta de Loriga, one of the most impressive landscapes in the mountains. In the final stretch, the trail crosses Valezim and Lapa dos Dinheiros, between terraces, centuries-old chestnut groves, waterfalls, and waterways, before returning to Seia. A route that combines mountains, villages, and heritage, revealing the heart of Serra da Estrela with every kilometer.
